I love the way you talk about the cat hat - as though its form happened of its own volition - I wonder, do you feel the characters begin to tell their own story as you make them in the way that some writers feel that characters which they write develop independent voices?

I would wear that hat, but then you know I wear the fur scarf with the face. All these puppets look so alive.
